Senior Software Developer at BatFast

Alex Mathews has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. Alex started their career as a Research Intern at the University of Bristol, where they worked on a project focused on mathematical analysis of plant structure. Alex used Matlab and advanced software to solve partial differential equations.

After that, Alex joined Rolls-Royce as a Graduate Engineer in the Engineering and Technology department. Alex was part of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Team, where they analyzed and optimized a high-pressure turbine. Alex utilized HPC clusters, Python, and optimization algorithms for this role. Later, they transitioned to become an Automation Engineer in the Digital and Automation Team, working on various automation projects.

Currently, Alex works at BatFast Sports as a Senior Software Developer. Alex previously held the position of a Software Developer too. In this role, they have been involved in the development of Sports Tech software, IoT, and web applications, predominantly using Python as a full-stack developer.

Alex Mathews attended Abbey Gate College from 2002 to 2009 for their primary and secondary education. Alex then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol from 2009 to 2013.
