William (Bill) Coen is an advisor at Baton Systems. Bill previously served as the Secretary General of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision from 2014-2019. In this role, they directed the work of the Basel Committee and managed its Secretariat. Bill also chaired the Policy Development Group, the Task Force on Corporate Governance, and the Coherence and Calibration Task Force. Prior to their role as Secretary General, Coen served as the Deputy Secretary General of the Basel Committee from 2007-2014. Bill started their career at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in 1999 as a member of the Secretariat for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Bill went on to serve as Content Manager for FSI Connect and then as Deputy Secretary General before becoming Secretary General in 2014.
Bill Coen has an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Fordham University's Graduate School of Business Administration, and a BS from Manhattan College.
