Eric Vella

Eric Vella has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Eric began their career as an Engineering Trainee at Foster Clark Products Ltd in 2009 and later returned to the company in 2010 for a similar role. During this time, they gained hands-on experience in machine repair, electrical installations, and commissioning of PLC controlled systems.

In 2011, Eric joined STMicroelectronics as a Process Engineer, where they were responsible for managing assembly processes, ensuring production quantity and quality, and optimizing equipment.

From 2014 to 2016, Eric worked as a Software Developer at FTIAS Back Office Services, focusing on improving intranet applications and continuous software development. During this role, they utilized programming languages such as PHP, SQL, HTML, Javascript, and JQuery.

Eric then transitioned into the field of software development, starting as a Full Stack Developer at battleface in 2016. Eric worked on REST API development, web application maintenance, and hybrid mobile application development. Eric continued to advance in their career at battleface, holding roles as Senior Full Stack Developer, Lead Developer, and, most recently, Director of Engineering (Europe). In these positions, Eric provided technical advice, mentored team members, and ensured the success of software development projects.

Throughout their career, Eric has worked with programming languages such as PHP, Laravel, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, and Angular. Eric has demonstrated their ability to lead and coordinate teams, collaborate with other departments, and meet project requirements efficiently.

Eric Vella pursued their education in a chronological order. From 2007 to 2011, they attended the University of Malta and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, from 2013 to 2016, they enrolled in the University of Liverpool and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Technology. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certain certifications. In January 2013, they obtained a Wireman Licence A from the Malta Resources Authority, and in May 2018, they received a Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
