Michael Smith

Michael Smith, MBA, has extensive experience in athletic management and event services, currently serving as Senior Associate Athletic Director and General Manager at Baxter Arena since July 2016. Prior to this role, Michael held various positions at Baxter Arena, including General Manager, Associate Athletic Director, Interim General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Director of Event Services. Michael's earlier experience includes a tenure at Omaha MECA from July 2003 to July 2016, where roles included Event Services Manager and Coordinator. Additionally, Michael worked as Pool Manager for the City of Omaha from December 2003 to July 2007. Michael holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, awarded in 2023, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Marketing, and Management from the same university, completed in 2008.
