Fred Merkle

Fred Merkle is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in software and hardware development, primarily in the medical technology and consumer electronics sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Baxter International Inc., Fred previously held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Walgreens Boots Alliance, where Fred established an IoT device team focused on developing remote patient monitoring solutions to enhance patient care. Prior to that, Fred was an Engineering Manager at System Sensor, leading a $400 million commercial smoke detector division and managing product development and departmental operations. Earlier in Fred's career, significant contributions were made at Shure Incorporated as both a Senior Product Development Engineer and a Product Development Engineer, where innovations in analog/mixed-signal design were realized. Fred holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
