Neil Yu is currently a Hybrid Wheat Design Lead and Science Fellow at Bayer, where they utilize a strong background in row crop breeding to drive innovative projects in modern plant breeding. With prior experience as the NA Cotton Unit Lead and a Senior Breeder, Neil has developed and tested novel breeding methodologies that leverage advancements in precision genomics and analytics. They earned a PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as an MS from Michigan State University and a BS from Wuhan University. Their interdisciplinary approach combines plant breeding, statistics, bioinformatics, and data science to enhance research capabilities in the field.
