Adam Smyth

Adam Smyth is the Director of BBC Northern Ireland, leading teams in creating impactful content for local and global audiences. With a robust background in journalism spanning 25 years, Adam has served in various roles including Head of News, Assistant Editor of BBC Newsline, and Editor of Digital News. Adam is responsible for the editorial decision-making process at BBC Northern Ireland and oversees an £83 million budget while fostering a skilled workforce of over 600 individuals. Holding an MA in English Literature from the University of Oxford, Adam is also an alumnus of the Wavelength leadership program and a fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute.
