Andy Harris is an experienced technical architect currently serving as the Lead Technical Architect for BBC iPlayer since February 2020, focusing on programme metadata and enhancing the responsive web experience, in addition to contributing to mobile applications and TV user interfaces. Prior to this role, Andy worked at BBC from August 2000 to January 2014 in various positions including Technical Architect and Web Development Team Lead, contributing significantly to the development of the iPlayer suite for web and mobile platforms. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Client Side Developer and Research Scientist at DERA from October 1998 to July 2000. Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, obtained between 1995 and 1998.
