Arif Ansari

Senior Editorial Adviser (news)

Arif Ansari is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience at the BBC, currently serving as a Senior Editorial Adviser in the Editorial Policy team since July 2021, providing guidance on news and current affairs. Prior to this role, Arif was the Senior Adviser for the Executive Complaints Unit, investigating alleged breaches of editorial guidelines. From September 2017 to June 2021, Arif acted as Head of News for the BBC Asian Network, overseeing a team of 25 journalists. Arif's career at BBC News also includes positions as NW Political Editor and Political Reporter, as well as a Reporter role at BBC Radio Stoke. Arif holds a Master of Arts in War Studies from King's College London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from St George’s, University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lancaster University.
