David Wormstone is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in operations and archive management within prominent broadcasting organizations. Currently serving as the Lead Operations Manager for News and Sport at BBC Technology & Media Operations since April 2023, David previously held the position of News Archive Manager at BBC News from 2017 to 2023. David's career at BBC began in 2003, where roles included Archive Manager and Senior Media Manager, focusing on the management, preservation, and research of digital and analogue assets for news and current affairs programming. David also contributed as a Film Researcher for entertainment shows and participated in a collaborative project with the Arts and Humanities Research Council regarding the Miners Strike. Prior to joining BBC, David worked as a News Librarian at ITV from 1998 to 2003. Educational credentials include a BA (Hons) in Public Media and English from the University of Leeds and Leeds Trinity University, earned between 1994 and 1997.
