Donald Runnicles is a distinguished Music Director at Deutsche Oper Berlin and serves as Principal Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. They previously held the position of Music Director and Principal Conductor at San Francisco Opera from 1992 to 2009 and have been the Music Director of the Grand Teton Music Festival since 2006. Additionally, Runnicles has been the Principal Guest Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 2000. They received their education at George Heriots School in Edinburgh, where they continue their studies.
