Frances Longley

Frances Longley is an accomplished leader in the field of international development and women's health, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) since July 2023. Frances has held significant positions including Chief Executive at ActionAid UK, where strategic cultural and structural challenges were addressed, and Executive Director of Programmes and Policy at CARE International UK, providing strategic leadership across multiple platforms. As a member of the BBC Appeals Advisory Committee, Frances contributes expertise in charity appeals, ensuring appropriate use of donations. Previous experience includes transforming Amref Health Africa's UK arm, directing communications at Unicef UK, and consulting on international development projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing educational, health, and well-being opportunities for diverse populations. Frances holds a Master's Degree in Development Studies from SOAS University of London and a BA Hons in English from the University of Leicester.
