Hannes Ricklefs

Hannes Ricklefs is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in architecture and engineering within the media and entertainment industry. Currently serving as the Head of Architecture for Metadata, Audience and Publishing at BBC since February 2018, Hannes excels in leading strategic projects that align with the BBC’s technology vision, including the development of conversational systems and enhancing data utilization for societal benefits. Prior to this role, Hannes spent over a decade at MPC as the Global Head of Core-Engineering, where responsibilities included managing film pipeline components and production tools. Hannes began the career as a Software Developer at Sun Microsystems and HanseCom GmbH, contributing to the development of innovative software solutions. With a Master’s degree in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent, Hannes possesses a robust educational background to complement professional expertise.
