Iona Hampson is a Senior Journalist at BBC News in Washington DC, with a rich background in reporting, producing, and team leadership across the BBC. They have a demonstrated history of innovating and developing brands through digital marketing and community initiatives, focusing on diversity and meaningful change. An RTS & ARIAS award winner and Emmy-nominated journalist, Iona has previously collaborated on significant stories, including breaking news events and documentaries for BBC platforms. Iona earned a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Nottingham Trent University with distinction, and a Bachelor’s degree in Ancient History and History from the University of Nottingham.
