Lisa Hunter

Lisa Hunter currently serves as the Director of External Communications at BBC, a position held since November 2025. Previously, Lisa was a Member of the Governing Council at Newcastle University and held the role of Head of Strategic Communications at MHP Group. Prior to these roles, Lisa was the Deputy Chief Executive at the Government Communication Service and the Director of Communications at the Department for Work and Pensions. Additional experience includes leadership positions at MHP Communications, Lloyd's of London, and various advisory roles within government departments. Lisa holds a PG Diploma in Broadcasting Journalism from Cardiff University and a BA Hons in Politics from Newcastle University.
