Mary Harper is currently the Chief Technical Advisor at the United Nations, a role they began in 2024. They have been serving as the Africa Editor at the BBC since 2009. Mary is also pursuing an MA in African Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, alongside their studies for another MA at the University of Cambridge, and has attended Bedales.
