Peter Newman

Software Engineering Team Lead at BBC

Peter Newman is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience at the BBC since January 2015, where roles have progressed from Software Engineer to Software Engineering Team Lead, focusing on the development of the UCED platform for data pipelines and content metadata delivery. Prior to joining the BBC, Peter served as a Research Associate at Lancaster University, contributing to the EPSRC funded Catalyst Project, and worked as a Ph.D. Student Consultant at InfoLab21. Peter's earlier academic roles include serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and a Research Associate at Lancaster University. Peter holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a BSc in Computer Science with Software Engineering from Lancaster University, alongside A-level qualifications from Blackpool Sixth Form College.
