Phil Layton

Phil Layton is currently serving as the Non Executive Director at the Digital Television Group (DTG) and has held multiple influential roles at BBC, including Head of Applied Research for Media and Head of Broadcast & Connected Systems. In these positions, they have led teams in producing innovations in streaming technologies, IP, and broadcast distribution, along with providing technical and strategic guidance. Phil earned a BSc(Eng) in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London between 1980 and 1983. They are also recognized as a Fellow of SMPTE and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET).
