Simon Burfoot

Simon Burfoot is currently the Lead Data Scientist at the BBC, where they build and lead a data science team focused on measuring and forecasting engagement metrics for the BBC's digital products. Simon previously served as a Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist at the Financial Times, contributing to strategic decision-making and managing other data scientists. Their earlier roles include Associate Data Scientist positions at Accuity and FlightGlobal, as well as experience as a Student Ambassador and Administrator at the University of Nottingham and University of Surrey. Simon holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics from UCL and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Surrey.
