Simon Rooney

Simon Rooney is an accomplished Creative Director at BBC, with a career spanning over two decades in user experience and design. Currently serving as Creative Director for BBC iPlayer, Simon leads the development of personalized experiences and oversees various platform enhancements. Previous roles include Creative Director for Audio & Video Experience and GEL, where responsibilities encompassed improving media playout experiences and integrating the BBC's Global Experience Language across digital products. Simon's foundational experience includes significant contributions as Senior Designer at Wales Online and a variety of design roles in commercial web and multimedia production. Educational qualifications include an MA in Human Computer Interface Design from the University of Portsmouth and a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from the University of Plymouth.
