Michael Chapman

Michael Chapman serves as the Upper School Dean of Teaching and Learning at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, a position held since June 2018. In this role, Michael helps shape pedagogical practices, faculty development, and student learning outcomes while teaching Scientific Ethics. Additionally, Michael has led initiatives such as the Upper School Scheduling Committee, a long-term strategic planning subcommittee, and curriculum redesign for the biology team. The professional journey includes experience as Co-Director for the Klingenstein Summer Institute at Teachers College, Columbia University, and various teaching roles at Boston College High School and Exploration Summer Programs. Michael holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as degrees in Secondary Education and Biology from the University of Virginia.
