Guillermo Santamaria

Guillermo Santamaria is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a Senior Expert Data Scientist at BBVA since January 2023, Guillermo previously held the position of CONACYT Research Fellow at Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología from October 2016 to February 2023 and worked as a Data Scientist at BBVA Bancomer for a brief period in early 2016, specializing in risk advising and credit scoring using machine learning. Guillermo's earlier roles include a Computer Sciences Postdoc Fellow at IIMAS, a Machine Learning Specialist at IIE, and various positions at IBM from 2005 to 2009, encompassing project management and IT sales. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering, both from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
