Joaquin Cortazar

Joaquin Cortazar is the Head of Interest Rate Management ALM at BBVA Spain, where they apply their extensive experience in treasury coordination and risk management. Previously, they worked at BBVA from 1998 to 2003, holding various roles, including Portfolio Manager and Head of Discretionary Proprietary Trading. Prior to that, Joaquin was part of the Market Risk Department at BBV from 1995 to 1998, focusing on methodologies such as Value at Risk. Joaquin earned a degree in Economics from EHU and furthered their education at CEMFI.
