Jose Montavez

Jose Montavez serves as the Head of Information Technology at BBVA, a position held since August 2011, where responsibilities include coordinating and implementing the technology strategy for European branches and overseeing European IT teams. Previously, Montavez was the Head of IT in London, leading the IT department within CIB Engineering, and served as IT Manager in the London office, managing technical projects and ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans for BBVA's UK operations. Montavez began a career at INDRA, working on system implementation and infrastructure maintenance for global banking operations from October 2001 to July 2011, coordinating projects across various international locations including major financial hubs in Europe and the Americas, and contributing to the establishment of BBVA's treasury operations in Hong Kong.
