Joy T. has a diverse work experience spanning over various companies and roles. In 2005, they started their career at BMO, where they held various roles until 2008. Joy then joined BDO Canada as a Senior Accountant until 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at the Financial Institutions Commission, Ministry of Finance, taking on roles such as Financial Analyst, A/Director of Supervision, and Supervisor. Joy then moved to the Financial Institutions Commission, BC Ministry of Finance, where they served as the Director of Supervision for Property and Casualty Insurance until 2017. During this time, they also became a Board Member at the Richmond Family Place Society, from 2013 to 2018. In 2013, they joined CPA Canada as an Associate Session Leader and Facilitator on a contractual basis. From 2017 to 2019, they became the Managing Director of Supervision at the BC Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM). Furthermore, they worked as the Director of Risk and Financial Analysis at BC Financial Services Authority from 2019, and is currently serving as the Acting Vice President of Supervision starting from April 2023. Additionally, they are a Session Leader contractor at CPA Western School of Business from January 2023 onwards.
Joy T. has a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of British Columbia, with a major in English and a minor in Commerce. Additionally, they obtained a Chartered Accountant (CA) degree from the CA School of Business, specializing in Accounting. Furthermore, they acquired a Diploma in Accounting from The University of British Columbia.
