Marcella M. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Starting in 2007, Marcella worked as an Executive Assistant & Facilities Administrator for Buy & Sell, a leading classified advertising newspaper and website in Ireland. Marcella provided support to the Managing Director/CEO and the Director of Sales, managed office facilities, and handled receptionist duties.

In 2009, Marcella worked as a Procurement Administrator (Contract) for BC Hydro, supporting the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer. Marcella provided administrative support to senior managers and the Procurement, Policy, and Controls team.

From 2011 to 2012, Marcella served as an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Mining, North America (Contract) at Golder Associates. Marcella assisted the company Principals and oversaw an administrative team.

In 2012, Marcella became an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Roads & Bridges at SNC-Lavalin, the largest engineering and construction company in Canada.

From 2014 to 2016, Marcella held two roles at Vancity, a values-based financial cooperative. Marcella worked as an Impact & Market Analyst (Secondment), contributing to Member and Community Insights. Marcella also served as a Senior Executive Assistant in the Office of the CEO, providing support to the Chief Governance Officer/Corporate Secretary and the Board of Directors.

In 2017, Marcella worked as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Marketing Officer at Hootsuite, a social relationship platform. Marcella also provided assistance to the VP of Growth and the VP of Customer during their time there.

Marcella then moved to Zillow Group in 2017 and served as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Industry Development Officer.

In 2018, Marcella took on a role as an Independent Business Owner for Vintage Apparel & Accessories, focusing on sustainability and providing vintage and thrift apparel options to clients.

Also in 2018, Marcella had a professional sabbatical with international travel, where they visited Southeast Asia and Canada and founded a business.

Lastly, in the same year, Marcella joined the Real Estate Council of BC as the Corporate Secretary. Marcella acted as a strategic support point between the Council/Board of Directors and the Executive Leadership, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with the Executive leadership to implement decisions made by the Board/Council.

Marcella M. obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fine Art & Design from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Before that, they completed their secondary education at St Brigid's Secondary School, where they obtained an Advanced Certificate in Secondary Level Education. In terms of additional certifications, Marcella M. obtained Administrative Justice Practice & Procedures certification from the BC Council of Administrative Tribunals in May 2020, Gender-Based Analysis Plus certification from the Government of Canada in February 2020, Governing with Intention certification from WATSON Advisors Inc. in July 2019, Occupational First Aid certification from Trauma Tech / WorkSafeBC in May 2013, and Occupational First Aid certification from Traumacare / WorkSafeBC in June 2012.
