Mikhail Nikomarov is a Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the former CEO and co-founder of Bushveld Energy. Since 2015, Mikhail has accelerated the energy transition through technical and financial innovations, achieving milestones such as establishing the largest vanadium electrolyte plant outside of China and developing the world’s first independently financed renewable energy project with long-duration energy storage technology. Mikhail previously led projects at McKinsey & Company across various sectors, collaborating with leaders at the national and corporate levels. As Chairman of the South Africa Energy Storage Association, Mikhail played a significant role in growing the organization and expanding the country's energy storage market. Mikhail's academic background includes an MBA from INSEAD and degrees in History and Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
