Tony Payne

Tony Payne, MBA, ICD.D CPA, CMA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Tony currently holds the role of SVP, Technology and Innovation, CTO at BCI since February 2020. Tony is also serving as the Director on the Board of Directors at South Island Prosperity Partnership, Greater Victoria Housing Society, and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. Previously, they served as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Northlands from May 2017 to March 2020, and as the VP of Business Technology at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) from May 2017 to February 2020. Tony has also held roles such as Director on the Board of Directors at CCI-LEX, General Manager - Edmonton at Long View Systems, Director on the Board of Directors (Edmonton Chapter) at CIO Association of Canada, and Senior Vice President of IT at Focus Corporation.

Tony Payne has a strong educational background in business and computer science. Tony obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science & Mathematical Statistics from the University of Pretoria in 1991. Tony further pursued their education and completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university in 2000. In 2017, they attended the Directors Education Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.

Additionally, Tony Payne holds several professional certifications. Tony obtained the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2016. In 2003, they attained the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. Tony also holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA, awarded in 1998. Furthermore, they have certifications in Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and additional certifications in Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
