Ryan McCarthy

Ryan McCarthy has a diverse work experience, holding various positions in different organizations. Ryan'smost recent role is as the Director of Player Health at BCLC, a position they have held since August 2022. Previously, they served as the Director of Knowledge Mobilization at the Can Centre on Substance Use and Addiction from November 2020 to September 2022. From June 2019 to November 2020, they worked as the Chief Administrative Officer at the Canadian Centre for Vaccinology. Before that, they were the Managing Director at McMaster University from March 2018 to June 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Research Services at Brock University from July 2015 to March 2018. Ryan also held the position of Director of Strategic & Institutional Research Initiatives at York University from November 2012 to June 2015. Ryan's earlier roles include serving as the Director of Knowledge Translation at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research from May 2011 to October 2012, and as the Manager of Knowledge Programs at the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation from 2007 to 2011. Ryan also worked as the Research Partnership Coordinator at the same organization from 2006 to 2007. Ryan's career started as a Project Coordinator at the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association from 2004 to 2006.

Ryan McCarthy is currently pursuing an Executive MSc (Master of Science) in Health Economics, Policy, and Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Previously, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Saint Mary's University. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the same university, although the specific field of study is unknown.
