Shawnee Porter

Shawnee Porter is a seasoned professional in occupational health and safety, currently serving as a Senior Specialist at BCLC since September 2024. Prior experience includes the role of OH&S Manager at Sun Peaks Resort from January 2022 to August 2024 and a Human Resources Coordinator at Sun Peaks Resort/Sun Peaks Grand from February 2017 to January 2022. Shawnee’s career began as a Quality Health & Safety Environment Advisor at Tesco Corporation and further included the position of Regional Safety Coordinator at Enerflex Ltd., overseeing six locations in Northern BC and AB. Shawnee possesses advanced education in conflict resolution, communications, and occupational health and safety, having studied at institutions such as the Justice Institute of British Columbia and the University of Alberta, and is actively pursuing further education from St. John Ambulance and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety.
