Bcompact is an Australian, family-run design and manufacturing company specialising in patented side-folding bamboo stairs and ladders for compact, design-led spaces.

From tiny homes and lofts to mezzanines, studios and commercial fit-outs, we help create more usable space without compromising safety, comfort or aesthetics.

Prefab Range – ready to specify
Our prefab ladder range delivers Bcompact engineering in a streamlined, easy-to-order package. Ideal for tiny homes, lofts and attic conversions, these systems save floor space, install efficiently and sit quietly within the interior.

Bespoke Design – beyond the website
Many projects don’t fit a standard solution. We work with architects, builders and homeowners to engineer custom folding stairs, ladders and access systems tailored to unique heights, layouts, materials and usage needs. If you can’t see it online, there’s a good chance we can design it with you.

Space-Saving Collections
Alongside access solutions, Bcompact also designs bamboo lighting, folding Christmas trees and other space-saving furniture and fit-out elements that share the same warm, minimal aesthetic and sustainability focus. Each piece is engineered to work hard in small spaces while contributing to a cohesive interior.

Why bamboo, why folding?
Our side-folding mechanisms allow stairs, ladders and furniture to sit flat or compact when not in use, freeing valuable floor area. Using high-quality, sustainably sourced bamboo, we combine structural performance with a refined, architectural look.

We partner with tiny home designers, architects, builders, installers and homeowners worldwide.
