Brandon Saunders

Partner/Senior Engineer and entrepreneur, Brandon Saunders has a reputation as a solid network designer who understands the needs of business and the demands of today’s competitive technology environment.

In 2003, Brandon co-founded BCS Engineering. In 2007, Brandon also co-founded IDM Integration, which provides custom programming and services for enterprise identity management systems primarily revolving around the Shibboleth software package supported by Internet2.

In 2008 BCS Engineering teamed up with the Reid Consulting Group, to design three networks that were used to complete successful ARRA/Federal Stimulus Grants. A total combined value of over $200 Million. The highlight of these systems covered Southeastern Ohio with Metropolitan class fiber-optic and wireless IP connectivity. This design extended the existing Southern Ohio Health Care Network (SOHCN) from 13 to 34 counties, and contained over 200 individual optical and IP network elements.

Prior to his experience with BCSE, Brandon was a Senior Network engineer at Ohio University, where he created the foundation architecture for the university’s 10G network backbone encompassing 100 buildings and seven regional campuses with a total of 20,000 computers. He also participated in a team that brought 802.11 wireless networking to Ohio University. Beyond networking projects, Brandon shared his comprehensive knowledge with others as he assisted in the design of a lab for teaching Internet technologies such as routing, security and applications and was head teaching assistant.

Brandon earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering and Technology. He was selected for the prestigious Robe Leadership Institute at Ohio University. The institute’s express purpose is to study leadership within the fields of engineering and business.
