Tugrul Firatli has had an extensive and diverse work experience spanning several decades. Tugrul began their career as a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories in 1982 and then worked as a Software Engineer at Apple from 1988 to 1991.
In 1991, Tugrul joined Teknekron Software Systems, which later became TIBCO Software. During their time at TIBCO, they played a crucial role in helping the company's financial services industry customers pioneer large-scale IP-based solutions. Tugrul co-founded TIBCO Software and served as the Vice President of the Global Telecommunications Practice. Tugrul also contributed to the company's successful IPO in 1999 and played a key role in establishing TIBCO as a dominant player in the telecommunications sector. Tugrul was responsible for defining networking strategies for the company's core technology during the emerging internet era. Tugrul worked at TIBCO Software until 2008.
From 2011 to 2013, Tugrul served as the VP of Sales & Business Development at Starview Inc., a software start-up specializing in operational intelligence and big data analytics. In this role, they focused on global business development and sales, targeting markets such as telecommunications, financial services, and oil & gas. Tugrul successfully built a pipeline with Fortune 100 companies from scratch and implemented effective go-to-market strategies.
Following their tenure at Starview Inc., Tugrul joined Cloak Labs in 2014 as the VP of Global Sales & Business Development. Tugrul was a member of the executive management team and played a crucial role in sales and business development, globally engaging with customers and partners. Tugrul also identified and validated target verticals, established market positioning, and developed go-to-market strategies. Tugrul led the business track that resulted in the merger of Cloak Labs with Kaazing. Tugrul worked at Cloak Labs until 2016.
After leaving Cloak Labs, Tugrul joined AgileStacks in 2016 as a Senior Consultant. Tugrul provided their expertise in consulting and worked until February 2018.
Finally, in 2018, Tugrul Firatli founded BCware and currently holds the position of Founder and CEO.
Tugrul Firatli pursued their education from 1976 to 1982 at Chalmers University of Technology. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Computer Science.
