George Williams

George Williams serves as the Director and National Head of Risk Advisory Services at BDO South Africa, leading a team that provides Internal Audit, Risk Management, Corporate Governance, and Forensic Accounting Services across South Africa and the Sub-Saharan region since February 2012. Prior to this role, George was the Managing Director at Grant Thornton Business Risk Services (Pty) Ltd from 1996 to 2011, overseeing internal audit and risk management services. George began a career in internal auditing as the Internal Audit Manager at ABSA Bank Limited from 1993 to 1996. Education includes a Masters of Internal Audit from the University of Pretoria, multiple certifications from the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. Currently, George is pursuing a PhD in Accounting Sciences at the University of South Africa.
