Thuto Masasa

Thuto Masasa serves as the National Head of Advisory at BDO South Africa since June 2020, bringing a wealth of experience in leadership and auditing. As the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Phakisa Incorporated from May 2018 to June 2020, Thuto led the firm in fostering growth and innovation. Previously, Thuto held roles at Nkonki Incorporated as the interim CEO, Head of External Audit, and Partner, managing high-profile audit clients including South African Airways and Cricket South Africa. Early career experiences include positions as a Financial Analyst at Cummins Africa Middle East and as an Audit Manager at Deloitte South Africa, where significant auditing responsibilities encompassed leading various high-profile clients. Thuto's academic background includes an accounting degree from GIBS Business School and an Honours degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
