Jacob McCarty

Jacob McCarty, ABCP, currently serves as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Security Officer and holds roles as a Senior Operational Risk Specialist and Operational Risk Specialist at BDO USA since December 2021. Previously, McCarty was the President of YPFP (Young Professionals in Foreign Policy) from June 2023 to October 2024, and served as a Fellow in Africa Studies at the American Foreign Policy Council from January 2019 to January 2022. Past experience includes positions at Hill+Knowlton Strategies as an Account Executive, and as an Infrastructure and Investments Intern at The Corporate Council on Africa. McCarty's early career involved significant roles such as Graduate Assistant at Missouri State University, Research Associate at Business Executives for National Security, and Program Leader at Rustic Pathways. McCarty earned a Master of Science in Defense and Strategic Studies with distinction from Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ohio University.
