Sam Thompson

Sam Thompson is currently the Assurance Technical Director at BDO USA, PC, where they focus on the state and local government industry and support audit engagement teams. In this role, Sam researches complex auditing and accounting issues and develops continuing professional education courses. Prior to this position, Sam held various roles at BDO USA, LLP, including Assurance Senior and Assurance Manager, and worked as an Audit Senior at Mikunda, Cottrell & Co., Inc. Sam began their career as an Intern Financial Analyst at AKT Wealth Advisors, LLP, after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Western Oregon University.
