David Hemmerling

David Hemmerling is the Managing Director of the National Tax Office at BDO USA, LLP, specializing in international tax and mergers & acquisitions. They previously served as a Partner at Deloitte Tax LLP from 1999 to 2020, focusing on outbound planning and international matters. Before that, Hemmerling was a Partner at Baker & McKenzie, where they concentrated on international tax planning and controversy, and held the same title at Ernst & Young, establishing the Southern California Transfer Pricing Practice. Additionally, they contributed to academia as an Adjunct Tax Professor at Loyola Law School in Spring 2020, teaching Corporate Tax II. David holds a BS in Finance from Utah State University and a JD from the University of Southern California Law School.
