Heather Hanson

Heather Hanson is a Tax Managing Director at BDO USA, having progressed through various roles in the company since its merger with Smith & Gesteland in 2018. Previously, Heather worked as a Senior Staff Accountant at Smith & Gesteland and has held multiple positions at BDO USA, including Senior Tax Manager and Tax Manager. With a foundation in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and advanced degrees in accountancy and education from other institutions, Heather possesses a diverse skill set that spans both teaching and accounting. Prior to their career in accounting, they served as a Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher and a K-2 Reading Resource Teacher in local school districts.
