Sam Thompson

Sam Thompson is currently an Assurance Technical Director at BDO USA, where they focus on the state and local government industry and support audit engagement teams. Since 2021, Sam has been involved in researching complex auditing issues and developing continuing education courses. Prior to this role, they gained extensive experience at BDO USA, LLP, progressing from Assurance Manager to Assurance Director, and also worked as an Audit Senior at Mikunda, Cottrell & Co., Inc. Earlier in their career, Sam completed an internship as a Financial Analyst at AKT Wealth Advisors. They hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Western Oregon University.
