Michael Leiken has held various positions in the biotechnology and research fields since 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Service Specialist at Save Mart Supermarkets. From 2014 to 2015, they were a High School Tutor for the Carson City School District and a Process Intern for Silver Standard Resources Inc. In 2016, they were a TERC Limnology Lab Intern and a Metallurgical Lab Intern for Silver Standard Resources Inc. In 2017, they were a Research Associate for ARIZ Precision Medicine and a Scientific Coordination and Toxicology Intern for Charles River Laboratories. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Research Associate II - Blainey and Regev Labs, a Research Associate - Blainey and Regev Labs, and a Senior Research Associate for the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. During the pandemic shutdown, they volunteered their skills to perform COVID-19 clinical testing in a certified CLIA lab at the Broad's Clinical Research Sequencing Platform. Additionally, they were a Chemical Biology Intern for the University of California, Davis.
Michael Leiken obtained a High School Degree from Carson High School in 2015, having studied CTE and Honors. Michael also obtained a MSHA certification from the Msha Dept of Labor in July 2015, a Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in September 2014, and a QPR Gatekeeper Certificate from the QPR Institute. Michael then attended the University of California, Davis from 2015 to 2019, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
