Raising the bar for Richmond - Richmond already has a rich cultural offer with the iconic River Thames, beautiful outdoor spaces, theatres and galleries. It has a historic and vibrant town centre – with a thriving range of independent shops and high-end retail brands.

An extensive set of public transport links and close proximity to Heathrow make it very accessible for employees and visitors. This central location, strong international appeal and skilled workforce has led to many multinationals and large UK corporates choosing to locate here. More recently the area has attracted a swathe of technical and IT companies forming a “Silicon Upon Thames”. These clusters of innovation have further strengthened the economic base of the area.

Improving Richmond Competitiveness. In an ever more competitive world Richmond can’t rest on its laurels - going forward the challenge is to build on what has already been achieved:

Promoting and positioning the area so that the aspirations of all its businesses are met
To develop a common vision for the area with a more cohesive approach to attract outside investment and increased footfall to the area
A Business Improvement District (BID) can kick-start this process by providing the necessary financial resources to address the key priorities which businesses believe will add value to an area. A BID provides numerous benefits to business and the wider community.
