Raj Atwal

Raj Atwal has extensive work experience in governance, risk, and compliance roles. Raj currently serves as the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance at Beacon Platform since March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Head of Compliance at the same company from January 2022 to March 2023. Before joining Beacon Platform, Raj worked at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) as a Senior Director in Governance, Risk & Compliance from January 2021 to December 2021. Raj also held the position of Senior Director in Governance, Risk & Compliance at Refinitiv from February 2019 to January 2021, where they briefly served as the Interim Head of GRC from October 2019 to December 2019. Raj's earlier experience includes roles at KPMG UK as a Cyber Security Manager/Executive Advisor/ISO Certification Practice Lead from April 2013 to January 2019, and at Audit Commission as the Governance Manager (Head of Information Security) from September 2004 to December 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior IT Audit Specialist at District Audit/Audit Commission from May 1999 to August 2004. Raj started their career as a Senior Analyst/Programmer at Lloyds UDT from 1996 to 1999 and as a Network Supervisor at The Coal Authority from 1994 to 1996.

Raj Atwal has a strong education background with a focus on leadership, business administration, and information systems for business. In 1989, they earned a BSc degree in Information Systems for Business from Leeds Beckett University. Following this, from 2000 to 2002, they attended Nottingham Trent University and obtained an MBA in Business Administration. In 2020, Raj completed an Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, further enhancing their expertise in the field of leadership.
