Mark Burnett has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mark started their career as a Drum Scanner Operator at First Press Publishing Ltd in 1998, where they were responsible for ensuring the quality of pictures used in various publications. Mark also trained staff in the use of high-resolution drum scanners. In 1999, they became the Picture Editor at First Press Publishing within Mirror Group, where they managed a busy picture desk and worked closely with photographers and the editorial team to meet tight deadlines.

In 2003, Mark moved to Digital Imaging - Reprographics, where they worked as a Drum Scanner Operator, responsible for high-resolution drum scanning and color correction. Mark gained expertise in Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and the Prinect workflow system. From 2008 to 2014, Mark worked as a Prepress Technician at McAllister Litho Glasgow, part of the MLG Print Group. Mark liaised between printers and the Mac department, resolved workflow issues, and was in charge of drum scanning, color correction, and retouching.

In 2014, Mark joined DCI Print Management Ltd as an Account Handler, where they gained experience in account handling, print management, and successfully led a campaign to generate new business. In 2019, they secured a three-month summer scholarship with Beam Global through Entrepreneurial Scotland's Saltire Scholar Programme, working in Graphic Design and Digital Marketing. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 2020, Mark continued to work remotely in the Marketing Department at Beam, gaining experience in a wide range of projects, including documenting the build and launch of the new EV ARC™ 2020 product.

Mark Burnett attended City of Glasgow College from 2015 to 2016, where they earned an HND in Graphic Design. Following this, they pursued a BA Honours in Communication Design at The Glasgow School of Art, specializing in Graphic Design and Photography, from 2016 to 2020.
