Sérgio Alves

Sérgio Alves has been in the telecom industry for over 20 years. Sérgio started their career in 2000 as a Project Manager at Optimus. In 2004, they moved to Pahldata as a Sales Representative and then to Siemens as a Technical Support Engineer. In 2006, they returned to Optimus as an Upstream Business Developer and Commercial Consultant for the Corporate Sector. In 2008, they joined Novis as a Key Account Sales Manager. In 2015, they became the Country Manager for Portugal at Arca Telecom, a company providing engineering services in the cellular industry. At the same time, they joined GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group) as a Council Member. In 2019, they took on the role of Head of Product Development at Beamian.

Sérgio Alves completed their High School education at Escola Secundária Infante D Henrique in 1997. Sérgio then obtained a Licenciatura em Engenharia Electrotécnica e Computadores from Universidade do Porto in 2003. In 2008, they completed a General Management Programme from Universidade do Porto and EGP Oporto Business School / Sonaecom Learning Centre. Sérgio then obtained a MsC in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship from Universidade do Porto in 2011. In 2013, they completed a Startup Engineering course from Stanford University and a Beginner's Guide to Irrational Behavior course from Duke University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Zebra RFID Technical Associate from Zebra Technologies in 2020, a NFC Introduction Training from NXP Semiconductors in 2013, a Waterpolo Coach - Level 2 from FPN - Portuguese Swimming Federation in 2011, and a Cisco Sales Expert from Cisco in 2010.
