Guo Chen

Guo Chen, PhD, is a seasoned clinical scientist with extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Senior Director, Clinical Scientist at Beam Therapeutics since January 2022. Prior to this role, Guo Chen held various positions at Biogen, including Principal Clinical Scientist and Associate Director in Ophthalmology, focusing on gene therapies for inherited retinal dystrophies, as well as at Merck as Early Clinical Scientist, providing operational leadership in Phase 1 trials. Earlier career milestones include serving as Clinical Studies Coordinator and Instructor-Research Faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where Guo Chen contributed to cancer research and mentored junior scientists. Academic credentials include a PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and a BS in Biology from Peking University.
