Holly Rees

Holly Rees has extensive experience in the field of lead discovery and genome editing. Currently serving as Director and Head of Lead Discovery at Beam Therapeutics since April 2019, Holly Rees has held multiple roles within the company, advancing from Senior Scientist I to Associate Director. Prior to this, Holly Rees was a Graduate Student and PhD candidate at Harvard University from September 2014 to March 2019, working under Professor David Liu and focusing on the development of base editors and molecular tools for genome editing. Holly Rees also contributed as a PhD student at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard during the same period. Holly Rees holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Chemistry from Harvard University and a degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from the University of Cambridge.
