Kevin Smith is an experienced technical leader with expertise in process development and nucleic acid manufacturing. They have held various roles at Moderna from Senior Scientist to Director of Nucleic Acid Process Development between 2022 and 2024. Previously, at Joule Unlimited Technologies, Inc., Kevin contributed to significant advancements in engineering cyanobacteria and membrane protein discovery from 2010 to 2013. Currently, they are the Director of mRNA Process Development at Beam Therapeutics and are pursuing a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UCLA, while also holding a BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Iowa State University.
