Ian Brown

Ian Brown has a long and varied career in software engineering, beginning in 1978 at Creare Inc. as a Programming Assistant and working up to Software Engineer over a 25+ year career. At Creare, they contributed to a product control system for tracking products (and parts) during production at a sister company. In 2004, they joined Tele Atlas as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked as a senior member of an international agile (Scrum) development team using Java with an Oracle database to build a new version of the company's computer map data production system. In 2008, they worked at Schmidt Analytical as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for database application development for remote sensing/GIS. Ian also worked as a GIS Software Engineer (Contract) at Adecco in 2009. That same year, they joined Education Online, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer (Stock Options) and designed and developed a tool to allow knowledge engineers and domain experts to directly update the knowledge base for an innovative on-line tutor system for K-12 students. In 2011, they began working at Bear-Code LLC as a Senior Developer/Project Manager, performing development and managing small development teams doing contract software for clients. Ian then joined Aprexis Health Solutions in 2015 as a Senior Software Developer, creating a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) system using Rails, PostGreSQL, and Redis.

Ian Brown attended Hanover High School from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a High School diploma.
