Beare Violins Ltd is a family company established in 1892 and now run by Peter and Freddie Beare, sons of Charles Beare, located near Chiddingstone, Kent.  

John and Arthur Beare founded our company more than a century ago and it was incorporated as J & A Beare Ltd in 1954. It flourished under the directorship of William and then Charles Beare, becoming well known for its care and expertise in looking after musicians and their violins, violas and cellos. In 1998 the family firm changed its name to Beare Violins Ltd.

Beare Violins Ltd is one of the world’s leading dealers and experts for fine antique instruments of the violin family.   With a particular focus on Italian violins, violas and cellos, Beare Violins has a range of instruments for sale and also issues certificates of authenticity. Where necessary, our small, experienced workshop carries out any restoration required.
